Our Code USP – love and expertise

»Our entire team is passionate about high quality code. I really enjoy how our high standards, our motivation and our great toolset help us to maintain and often improve the quality of our codebase while our product grows and matures.«

Anne Schneider, Member of our Backend Team

»Well, we take care of our code! For example we have our RnD meetings every two weeks where we look if and how we can make our code or infrastructure even better.«

Stefan Herold, Member of our iOS Team

»We want to ship. All the time. Without proper test suites, CI and CD, you can’t ship all the time. That’s why a high standard and a sustainable development is a must for us.«

Christian Bäuerlein, Director of Technology and Engineering

»Our goals are accuracy, stability, avoidance of unnecessary complexity and farsightedness.«

Verena Brodbeck, Member of our Driver Team

»I would say our code is “special” because we can make totally fast customizations without breaking existing features. That means we have a pretty good architecture.«

Nicolai Föller, Head of Mobile

Onboarding USP

Now that you’re interested – This is our onboarding process

Did you ever experience the situation where you know your own team members, but not even the name of the person sitting across from you in the office? That is not going to happen to you at ioki! You will not just know the names, but even the exact thing the other teams are doing. At ioki, we take onboarding very seriously. You, as a new employee, should feel welcome right away and quickly get an overview of ioki – pandemic or not. What makes our onboarding process unique is that each department presents itself in a separate onboarding session. Since we know how much information you have to handle at the beginning, these onboarding sessions don’t take place all at once, but within your first weeks. This way, you have the perfect overview of all areas and responsibilities. Find out more about our onboarding process at ioki here.

Buddy System

Buddy System – everybody needs somebuddy

The Buddy System is the latest newbie update at ioki. We thought that as a future iokian, you might be unsettled about your start during this special time. To make it as easy & smooth as possible, we are a huge fan of our Buddy System because we think: everybody needs somebuddy! A buddy is a go-to-person, who will be there like a friend for all the little questions, especially in the beginning.

Another thing which is special about it: Buddy & newbie are assigned in such a way that they are not from the same team. This is a great way to get to know iokians you might not be working with directly, which allows you to make contacts quickly!
