As a pioneer for autonomous ridepooling and together with our customers, we have been successfully implementing the use of autonomous vehicles since 2017 – from Germany’s first self-driving shuttle bus to autonomous on-demand fleets in local public transport. This makes us a reliable partner for smart and sustainable mobility solutions, especially in suburban and rural areas.

AUTONOME PROJEKTE
Autonomous on-demand transport in the Rhine-Main region
The first test drives with autonomous vehicles for public transport have been taking place in the Rhine-Main region since June 2024. KIRA (AI-based regular operation of autonomous on-demand transport) is the name of the research project.
ioki provides routing and ride pooling technology and integrates the software of the other tech partners. The autonomous vehicles are on the road without human intervention. “Eyes off, hands off” corresponds to SAE Level 4, but there is always a safety driver on board.
Interested citizens will soon be able to register for test drives.

EasyMile GmbH
With the autonomous shuttle EASYplus in Frankfurt's Riederwald, we have brought together autonomous driving and the option of on-demand ride booking in the RMV area for the first time. The booking software from ioki was used for this, ensuring a smooth service throughout the entire period. Passengers were particularly enthusiastic and made very active use of the service. Ultimately, that's what matters: An attractive offer that corresponds to people's mobility behaviour and mobility needs.
