Large-scale on-demand project supplementing local public transport in predominantly rural areas

August 2021 marked the launch of what is now one of the largest on-demand transport projects in Germany: NAH.SHUTTLE.

Operating in Germany‘s northernmost federal state, “remo” and the „NAH.SHUTTLE“ (formerly „Smartes DorfSHUTTLE“ offer passengers fast, accessible and demand-responsive transport. The “Lüttbus” joined in April 2023, further expanding the service. An app developed by ioki bundles all offerings by NAH.SH GmbH, the state of Schleswig-Holstein, and regional partners around Rendsburg, Süderbrarup and Bredstedt. The new user-friendly app simplifies booking, complementing traditional bus and train services. The project prioritises enhancing public transport accessibility in ruralareas.
