See at a glance how good the quality of public transport is. This is the promise of ioki Plan, the latest innovation from the DB subsidiary ioki. With ioki Plan, ioki is setting new standards in analysis and planning in local transport. Users can register free of charge and receive an interactive presentation of the quality of the public transport offer in just a few minutes.

Everything at a glance

The platform uses an easy-to-understand colour scheme and shows how high-quality local transport is in a region. Green means a very good connection to bus and train. Red means that there is a very poor or no public transport connection. The color divisions are supported by the letters from A to G. In this way, complex data on timetables, stop distances and other factors of traffic modelling are converted into clear maps. The model for the supply analysis comes from Switzerland. Public transport quality classes are already being used there for planning processes.

A web tool for specialist departments, politics and the public

ioki Plan is primarily aimed at transport experts. They can quickly identify weaknesses in the quality of the offer without providing their own data. Thanks to the easy-to-understand operation of ioki Plan, stakeholders from politics, administration and citizens can find out about the development quality of public transport on site.

High data quality with easy operation

For smaller municipalities with limited resources, the web application offers a cost-efficient way to make data-based decisions for improved public transport planning and thus increase the quality of life of citizens. Transport companies and transport associations benefit from additional data-based decision support for network replanning. The clear visualisation and ease of use make ioki Plan a valuable tool for sustainable transport planning.

Michael Barillère-Scholz, Managing Director of ioki: “With ioki Plan, we support the population as well as mobility experts on site in data-based and sustainable transport planning. The better the local public transport infrastructure, the more people use public transport. This not only reduces motorised individual traffic, but also ensures a better quality of life locally.”

The range of functions of the web tool is constantly being further developed. Further detailed analyses will be available shortly, which, among other things, will enable an in-depth analysis by time of day, day of the week and specific target groups.
