When people think of startups, most people think of young crazy people working in a startup hub, fighting with nerfguns during lunch and drinking club mate. How can you really imagine the everyday working life in a mobility start-up?
We really do have Nerfguns and of course the obligatory kickers not to be missed 🙂 We even added a small table tennis table, which is used for small matches in the afternoon. The daily work routine itself is very different and varies depending on the main focus of the day. Due to the fact that we are in a tendering market, it sometimes happens that enquiries for new projects come in at short notice and we have to react quickly. We help each other and keep the distances as short as possible. For the coordination we use slack as it is necessary for a start-up and there are various channels that offer the possibility to arrange an afterwork or lunch in addition to the technical or project-related topics. In general, ioki does a lot to maintain our culture and values and to strengthen team cohesion.
Suppose you were in possession of a Christmas glass ball that not only looks chic, but can also predict the future. How will the mobility industry change over the next ten years?
Long-term sustainable mobility solutions will be established, which will make it possible to reach the desired goal flexibly and individually in every day and life situation.
Mobility is a very diverse field, what exactly inspires you to help shape the mobility of tomorrow?
Mobility is a basic need and should be available to everyone. Currently, this basic need is mostly met by using one’s own car, which in turn leads to environmental pollution. For me the topic of sustainable mobility and the establishment of this is the task we have as a mobility company and my motivation to bring the projects together with the customers on the road.
As Head of Project Management you have a good overview of what is happening at ioki. Which project has captivated you in particular and makes you really proud?
All the projects we have started at ioki have been captivating in one way or another 🙂 What makes me particularly proud here is the implementation of the projects as a team. Each project brings not only successes but also challenges that have to be mastered. It is important to react flexibly and to go the “last mile” for the success of the project without losing sight of the economic Kapa-use. It is always fun to see how we at ioki implement projects across teams and support each other.
What special moment do you associate with the most hated and loved Christmas song in Europe, Last Christmas?
Since I don’t have a private car and don’t listen to the radio myself, I can fortunately make a conscious decision about whether and when I want to listen to the song 😀
Thanks Laura!
