Our analysis is usually carried out in three steps: A mobility analysis provides a highly detailed insight into where and when there is a need for mobility. By linking the mobility needs of the population with today’s public transport services, we identify gaps in the form of areas that currently have comparatively poor public transport services. This is the basis for the conception of a new, future offer. In addition to new forms of services such as on-demand transport and micro-mobility solutions, this can also involve adapting existing, line-bound transport. In a final operational simulation, we calculate the effects of the concepts in terms of customer quality, demand and profitability.
What happens once the mobility analysis process is completed?
Our clients need a little time to discuss the results we present in their committees and have a implementation decision. If desired, we can support this process by presenting the results on site and of course we always have an open ear for questions about details of the analysis. If the planning of an on-demand project is concerned, ioki will also support you in the operative essay of such a project. In this case we will hand over the planning results to the responsible ioki project manager. We also transfer the planning results to the ioki software, which in the end controls the operation.
Which project did you enjoy most during your time at ioki and makes you really proud?
The project ioki Ahrensburg is just starting these days. The planning here was really fun, as we could realise an even deeper integration of on-demand services into the existing public transport system. Based on an already existing city bus system in Ahrensburg, we have developed a logic that allows the booking of an on-demand service only if there is no parallel bus service. This logic enables us to minimise the cannibalisation of the existing traffic and at the same time to offer an on-demand service with limited resources throughout the city. I am proud that this planning proposal is being implemented and that there are only a few months between planning and the real start of operations.
Michael, in the Christmas bakery, there are many delicacies. What should not be missing in your Christmas bakery?
If you put a cinnamon and apple crumble cake at my workplace tomorrow, you would make me very happy!
Thanks Michael!
